How to move the software to another computer?

Computer crash, new OS or just the need to move the meteonorm software to another computer?

There are many reasons why you may need to move Meteonorm to another computer and get it working again. With Meteonorm version 7 you can accomplish this by yourself, due to the way Meteonorm handles registrations. 

When you enter the serial number in the registration diaolog, the software connects to our license server and checks your identification. In reverse you can revoke your registration which will reset your serial number on the license server enabling you to use it again.

This function allows users to have two installations on different computers, for example on their desktop and their notebook. While they leave the office they have to de-activate the license on the desktop computer and activate it on the notebook to keep on working while travelling around.

Move installation from Computer A to Computer B

  1. Start Meteonorm on Computer A.
  2. Run the command "Revoke registration.." in the Help menu.
  3. Install Meteonorm on computer B.
  4. Start Meteonorm on computer B.
  5. Register Meteonorm on computer B with the same serial number. Done!

No access to Computer A (computer crash, stolen computer)?

  1. Write an e-mail to support@meteonorm.com and ask to revoke your registration. Please add your order id or serial number to the e-mail.
  2. Install Meteonorm on computer B.
  3. Start Meteonorm on computer B.
  4. Register Meteonorm on computer B with the same serial number. Done!
